Water Kingdom : What all to carry (guys and girls) and how to reach

Asia's largest theme water park- Water Kingdom.
I googled some articles only to find out that there are very few sites which give partial information on what to carry to water kingdom.
So, I thought maybe there are people looking for similar information. Read below for details:

How to reach:

1. Get down at Borivali Railway station (West) and take a rick.
2. Shared ricks are available for INR 20/- per seat. However, if you are a couple and don't want to share INR 70-80/- is a good deal.
3. The rick will drop you to a place from where you will get a ferry to Water Kingdom, you don't have to purchase tickets, just hop in and pay INR 50 directly at the counter in Essel world/water kingdom. It is a 15 minute ride.
4. As you reach, you can quickly enter and buy tickets. Here is a trick - Most people don't know that there is a separate counter for tickets to Water Kingdom which is opposite to the main ticket counter (which is crowded esp on weekends) in front of the food joint, just 50 steps opposite to the main counter.
5. Once you have purchased the tickets, remember to purchase a locker. One locker is sufficient enough to hold two bags, so purchase one locker for two people if you want to save money. Costs INR 150.
6. Next step is to gear up and walk in (a toy train will take you there).

For people traveling for first time from any part of India, remember that Essel World and Water Kingdom are next to each other. Just like the movie Andaz Apna Apna where Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are watching one Paresh Rawal in prison and the other one enjoying life, one sees the good side of him and other the other wicked side. You might be tempted to hop and jump to the other side, but that's not possible.

So once, you are in. Following is the stuff you need and what you should carry:

For GUYS:

1. Clothes: Lycra or a nylon tee and shorts. If you don't have one then don't worry, you can either buy or rent it from there itself. Buying cost - INR 270 (for tee and shorts), Rental cost - INR 170 (tee and shorts). I would suggest to opt for only shorts as majority of the rides will ask you to take off the tee shirt as it slows you down.
If you are fat or are ashamed of your body, don't worry, you will find people worse than you.
Also, FOOTWEARS are NOT ALLOWED inside water kingdom.

Basic you should carry: Shampoo, towel and one inner garment. After the highly chlorinated water your hair and body becomes dry and you need to shower after you are done.

2. Money: As you will be drenched, ask a representative near the locker room to give you a small poly bag which is water proof (free of cost) to carry some money. I would suggest INR 250 is good enough per person.

3. Food: No food is allowed inside, not even water bottles. You can get food on the inside at a reasonable cost in Water Kingdom. The rates are slightly more in Essel World. I suggest try the lunch plate (chhola bhatura, rice, papad and sweet), it was delicious and costed only INR 140 pp.

4. Other accessories: In water kingdom, you can carry your cell phone to click pics but I suggest you let it go as it will be a pain to keep it with you or even with a friend.

Overall, I suggest, just carry basic stuff from home itself and you will do fine.

For GIRLS (courtesy: +Harshada Deshpande
1. Clothes- Wear sports inners to avoid bouncy boobs as the place is kinda filled with 70% of men.
Don't carry large bags as the chances are that they won't fit lockers. You don't have to carry an extra pair of outer clothing or footwear just for water kingdom.

Basics you should carry: Shampoo + conditioner, a moisturizer and extra inner wear (just in case). It is recommended that you carry your own swim suits because the rental ones may not fit if you are a plus sized person.

2. Money and Food: same as above.

3. Any other accessories: If you have a waterproof phone, this could be your chance to showoff and beat the iPhones and the likes. If not, then phones are not needed, yep, not even for selfies.

While returning Ferry will drop you back and you can go home chattering about the rides you have been in.

Overall, Water Kingdom is a nice place to be in. Some rides are awesome. The only thing I didn't like about it, is that you have to wait in line to get your turn.  That waiting on the weekends in 20-25mins, so I suggest either you start your day early on a weekend or plan it up on a weekday.

Enjoy folks! I hope it helped.
